We facilitate a workshop about how to write a policy brief with the Portuguese Agency for Planning and Policy Evaluation.

On 19 February 2025, the workshop ‘How to Write a Policy Brief?’ was held at Campus XXI, Government Headquarters in Lisbon. Organised by PLANAPP (Agency for the Planning and Evaluation of Public Policies, by its Portuguese initials) and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC), it was attended by 31 researchers. The event, which included theoretical and practical sessions, aimed to train participants in the creation of effective policy briefs for public policies.

Maite Iriondo, Scientific Evidence Officer at Oficia C, participated as a facilitator of these workshops in which researchers learned how to structure and write clear and precise documents for use by policy makers. The policy briefs produced focused on issues relevant to public policy in Portugal.

This workshop highlights the role of Oficina C in promoting similar initiatives in other countries and in building and consolidating the science for policy ecosystem in Europe.
