Dialogues C

Oficina C organises meetings behind closed doors to present the Reports C to Congress members and staff.  These meetings bring together leading experts and scientists who contributed to each of the reports.

The goal of the Dialogues C sessions is to set up a conversation where Members of Congress can exchange views with researchers and identify common challenges on the issues discussed.

The image shows stretched and marked DNA fibres through a fluorescence microscope. This technique is used to study the replicative pattern of cells. When a cell is replicating its DNA, that piece is incorporated into the nascent strand; then we can detect it by immunofluorescence, as shown in yellow on the photo. In blue, we can also see a general DNA stain with the use of a fluorescent antibody that recognises single-stranded DNA.
