We facilitate the access to scientific evidence on different topics of interest to the Congress and stimulate the dialogue between the scientific community and the Deputies. We contribute to the inclusion of scientific knowledge in the decision-making process.

Scientific evidence - from peer-review articles, interviews with researchers, scientists and experts, etc. - is analysed, summarised and put into context in the Reports C, following a standardised process (the Method C). The Reports C are available to all Deputies and the general public.

About scientific knowledge

Scientific knowledge is extensive, multidisciplinary and often highly specialized. It is the result of the work of millions of scientists around the world. This is particularly true at a time when the challenges we face are increasingly complex and multidimensional.

The evaluation of scientific evidence must keep in mind that scientific knowledge advances, evolves and is not free of uncertainties and ambiguities. Science is self-correcting and is under the constant review and scrutiny of the scientific community.

The Method C aims to contextualise, summarise and communicate the consensus, dissent and gaps in research on a given topic at a given time.
