Oficina C participates in the conference "Strengthening the Capacity for Evidence-Based Policymaking" in Brussels.

On Tuesday, 18th March, Ana Elorza, coordinator of Oficina C at FECYT, participated in a panel on knowledge brokering at the conference Strengthening the Capacity for Evidence-Based Policymaking in Governance and Public Administration in a Post-Pandemic Europe, organised by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) and held in Brussels.

In her speech, the FECYT coordinator emphasised the importance of strengthening the connection between science and public policy in Spain. She stressed the need to give knowledge brokers greater recognition and foster collaboration between the scientific community and policymakers.

The panel also featured international experts such as Gintaras Valinčius, president of the Lithuanian Research Council; Külliki Tafel-Viia, scientific advisor to the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications; and Patrick Flammarion, deputy director general for Expertise and Public Policy Support at INRAE, France. Together, they discussed how the institutional location of knowledge brokers—whether in government, academia, or independent entities—can influence how they perform their role and the effectiveness of their work in integrating scientific evidence into decision-making.

Oficina C’s participation in such events demonstrates its commitment to sharing best practices and collaborating with international peers in the field of science for public policy.
