The coordinator of Oficina C participates in the semi-plenary session "Science for public policies in Spain and its impact on the social sciences" as part of the XV Spanish Congress of Sociology, organised by the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES, by its Spanish acronym)
The XV Spanish Congress of Sociology, held from 26 to 29 June in Seville, brought together professionals and experts from various disciplines and fields of knowledge to facilitate the exchange of information under the theme #SociologíaParaLaSociedadDigital.
In this context, a range of presentations, symposia, semi-plenary sessions, and working groups were coordinated and organised, addressing different topics. Ana Elorza, head of Oficina C, participated in one of these sessions, the semi-plenary "Science for public policies in Spain and its impact on the social sciences."
This session explored the crucial role of science, particularly the social sciences, in the development and evaluation of effective public policies. The discussion focused on how to enhace this role, including opening new research opportunities, increasing the relevance and utility of scientific work, and improving its impact on decision-making. The session also emphasised the potential of the social sciences to bring fresh perspectives, innovative approaches, and advanced methodological tools to research.
